Indigo Books Celebrates National Poetry Month
Sun Apr 18, 2010 / 2:30pm - 4:00pm

Indigo Books Presents:  Why (?) Poetry a reading series. Hosted by Shaista Justin

Indigo Books celebrates poetry month in April 2010 by launching their first ever poetry reading series titled: “Why (?) Poetry.” In conjunction with Canada’s foremost book advocate Heather Reisman (CEO, Indigo Books), Shaista Justin (poet, playwright and independent scholar) has undertaken to showcase established and emerging voices in the Canadian poetry landscape to ask the question: is poetry relevant to a contemporary audience? This 2 part series, through unconventional multi-faceted readings, interviews and an audience open-mic session, will seek answers to this question from poets and the audience alike.
