Meira Cook has published three books of poetry and a book of essays entitled Writing Lovers (McGill-Queen's University Press). She has a new book of poetry coming out in Fall 2011 entitled A Walker in the City (Brick Books).
Barry Dempster is the author of sixteen books, including a novel, The Ascension of Jesse Rapture, a children’s book, two volumes of short stories and twelve collections of poetry. He has been nominated for the Governor General's Award twice and has won a Petra Kenney Award, a Confederation Poets’ Prize, a Prairie Fire Poetry Contest and the Canadian Authors’ Association Jack Chalmers Award for Poetry for his 2005 collection, The Burning Alphabet. In 2009, he published two new books of poetry: Love Outlandish, published by Brick Books, and Ivan’s Birches, with Pedlar Press. A new collection, Blue Wherever, was published by Signature Editions in the spring of 2010. In recent years Barry has taught at the Banff Centre in the Poetry Studio, the Wired Writing program and the Writing with Style program. He has conducted two poetry master classes in Santiago Chile and has conducted several writing workshop as writer-in-residence at the Richmond Hill Public Library. In May 2011 he will conduct the Spring Colloquium at Sage Hill. He lives in north of Toronto, where he runs a film series and two book discussion groups.
