Barry Dempster, twice nominated for the Governor General's Award, is the author of sixteen books. His collection The Burning Alphabet won the Canadian Authors' Association Chalmers Award for Poetry in 2005. In 2010, he was a finalist for the Ontario Premiers Award for Excellence in the Arts. He is also Acquisitions Editor for Brick Books and teaches writing workshops from Banff, Alberta to Santiago, Chile. His most recent books include Love Outlandish, Ivan's Birches and Blue Wherever. A new collection called Dying a Little is being published by Wolsak & Wynn in September.
Richard Greene is a poet, biographer, and critic. He was born in Newfoundland and now lives in Cobourg, Ontario. His third collection of poetry, Boxing the Compass (Signal Editions), won the 2010 Governor GeneralÕs Literary Award with the citation: "Boxing the Compass leaves us feeling unmoored, adrift across time and voice. The matchless long poem at its heart pulls us back to our always-moving selves..." Educated at Memorial University and Oxford, Greene is now a professor of English at the University of Toronto, where he teaches creative writing and twentieth century literature. He has eight books to his credit, of which the most recent is a major biography of the British poet, Edith Sitwell (Little, Brown, 2011).
Marc Jampole is the author of Music from Words, published by Bellday Books. His poetry has appeared in The EvansvilleReview, Mississippi Review, CortlandReview, Slant, 580 Split,Janus Head, Ellipsis and other journals. Over the years, four of his poems have beennominated for the Pushcart Prize. Morethan 1,200 freelance articles he has written on various subjects have beenpublished in magazines and newspapers.
